Where two products rank closely, the runner-up is identified for the buyer who has a specific niche need. Where the gap is large, we say so directly.
Our editorial team has full discretion over which products are reviewed, how they are tested, what is written, and how they are ranked. Advertisers, manufacturers, and affiliate networks do not see drafts before publication, do not edit our copy, and cannot remove negative findings about their products.
Negative findings about a product we have a commercial relationship with are published the same as findings about any other product. If a product becomes our top recommendation and the underlying commercial terms change, the ranking is revisited the next time the page is updated.
Reviews on this site are written by our testing team. Bylines on individual reviews may be pen names used by team members for privacy and brand-consistency reasons — this is standard practice in editorial advertising publications. The expertise, testing, and findings attributed to each byline reflect the work of the testing team, regardless of whether the byline is a legal name.
Where a byline carries a credential or qualification, the credential reflects expertise within the testing team for that category.
